In this 3-hour, instructor-led workshop, you will get a introductory crash course on the Docker platform and how to get started with containers. We will take you through hands-on exercises designed to help you learn the skills to run and build containers and how to distribute container images.
Experience Level: No previous experience with Docker is needed.
Docker Networking : 0 to 60mph
In this 3-hour, instructor-led training, you will get an in-depth look into Docker Networking. We will cover all the networking features natively available in Docker and take you through hands-on exercises designed to help you learn the skills you need to deploy and maintain Docker containers in your existing network environment.
Get hands-on with security features and best practices to protect your containerized services. Learn to push and verify signed images with Docker Content Trust, and collaborate with delegation roles. Intermediate to advanced level Docker experience recommended, participants will be building and pushing with Docker during the workshop.

Docker for Java Developers
Docker is the developer-friendly container technology that enables creation of your application stack: OS, JVM, app server, app, database and all your custom configuration. So you are a Java developer but how comfortable are you and your team taking Docker from development to production? Are you hearing developers say, "But it works on my machine!" when code breaks in production? And if you are, how many hours are then spent standing up an accurate test environment to research and fix the bug that caused the problem?
Docker provides PODA (Package Once Deploy Anywhere) and complements WORA (Write Once Run Anywhere) provided by Java. It also helps you reduce the impedance mismatch between dev, test, and production environment and simplifies Java application deployment.
This workshop/session explains how to package, deploy, and scale Java applications using Docker.

Developing with Microservices:
In this 3-hour workshop, you will learn about the microservice architecture, its benefits and drawbacks, and when to use it.
A monolithic architecture is a great choice for small applications. However, a better approach for large, complex applications is to use a microservice architecture, which structures the application as a set of services. Each service can be developed, deployed and scaled independently. The microservice architecture enables teams that develop large, complex applications to be agile. In this tutorial, you will learn about the motivations for using microservice architecture. We discuss the benefits and drawbacks of microservices. You will learn how to solve some of the key technical challenges with using the microservice architecture, including inter-service communication and distributed data management. We will discuss strategies for refactoring a monolithic application to microservices.

Dockerizing Windows Server Applications
In this workshop we learn about and experience the new Docker and container functionality in Windows Server 2016. We will go over how to install and configure the Docker engine review options and configuration for networking and storage, overview some basic logging and troubleshooting techniques and then dive into dockerizing some Windows Server applications such as web applications, databases and services.
Experience Level: Basic Docker and Windows experience recommended
Docker Datacenter Overview and Production Setup
In this 3-hour, instructor-led training, you will get an overview on Docker Data Center and Universal Control Plane. We will cover how to install for production and integrate Docker Trusted Registry.
Led by DDC + UCP Champ:
Experience Level: Attendees need no prior experience with Docker, but should be familiar with basic linux command-line.
